Gällivare municipality is in an exciting development phase where we are strengthening our organization to meet the needs of the future in health and care. We are now looking for a strategic, courageous and present head of operations for health care. This is a key role in the municipality's continued transition to close care and in ensuring security, quality and continuity for our residents.

As head of operations, you will have a mission with both breadth and meaning. You will lead our nurses, physiotherapists and occupational therapists. In connection with an organizational change, the home care area is being divided up to create clearer responsibilities and better conditions for management and development. The head of department for home care will in future be responsible for home care services, while you as head of operations will have cross-administrative responsibility for the health care professions. You will be a central part of the social administration's management team and work closely with the Head of Social Services, MAS and other managers to create a cohesive, modern and powerful organization.

Duties

As head of operations, you will:

  • Lead and develop the municipality's health care, rehabilitation, habilitation and assistive technology activities
  • Have overall responsibility for quality, finance, work environment and business development
  • Be the head of unit manager and professional teams within HSL
  • Collaborate with Region Norrbotten and other actors to strengthen the close care
  • Ensure compliance with legislation, guidelines and political decisions
  • Drive improvement work and develop digitization and welfare technology
  • Active contribution to the management team's strategic work

This is the role for you who want to combine a strategic leadership with proximity to operations and people.

Qualifications

We are looking for you with a relevant university degree, for example a nurse, physiotherapist or other degree in health care with documented management experience
Good knowledge of HSL and preferably also SoL. We see that it is advantageous if you have previously had experience of leading change and improvement work
as a person, you should be a communicative, confident and courageous leader who creates job satisfaction and trust. You need to have an understanding of both operational and strategic management, as well as good ability to express yourself in Swedish in speech and writing. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

B-driving license

We see that merit if you have previous

  • Experience from municipal care and care
  • Experience in digitization and welfare technology
  • Knowledge of any of the minority languages: Sami, Meänkieli, Finnish. Gällivare municipality is the administrative municipality for the National Minority Languages Act.

Working hours / Duration

Full-time employment starting 2026-03-01 or by agreement. Probationary period may occur.
