Business description
The position is located in the Technology Department within the Public Works and Technology Administration. The department is responsible for providing residents with services in the areas of water / sewage, streets, traffic, fiber and waste management. The unit is characterized by broad expertise and a team spirit based on the values of Gällivare municipality. Development issues are important to us with the goal of further strengthening Gällivare as an attractive municipality to live and work in. We work continuously with improvements in work processes and in collaboration with internal and external actors. You will be part of a team that works to ensure that our municipality is kept in a good and safe condition.
Duties
The unit consists of approximately 18 staff. You will lead and support the staff in a strategic and operational way to develop the unit through planning, management and resource allocation. As Head of Unit, you have operational, financial and personnel responsibilities. You will be assisted by two operations managers and your work will take place in collaboration with operations managers and other activities.
Your main tasks are to manage and develop the water and wastewater processes and actively contribute to achieving the municipality's and the administration's overall goals.
Key future challenges include ensuring a sustainable water supply / wastewater treatment and driving the renewal of the pipeline network. Water supply is an important issue for the municipality, which requires collaboration with many actors. Representing the municipality as well as conducting dialog and informing about the business is therefore an important part of the job.
You may participate in new and rebuilding projects within the unit and have your own planning and investigation assignments. You will work as a requirement setter for contractors and participate in various types of procurement with the support of buyers. In collaboration with the administration's staff, you will follow up, develop and evaluate agreements and cooperation with contractors.
Qualifications
You have a relevant university education or other education and experience that the employer considers appropriate. Experience of similar tasks in the water and sewerage sector is an advantage, as is work in a politically controlled organization.
