Gällivare municipality is now looking for a cross-administrative principal who is part of the Child and Education Administration's STAB. The role means that you cover up as a principal in both preschool and compulsory school when regular management is missing, in the event of vacancies or special needs.

You will be part of a central support function whose mission is to ensure stability, quality and security in our operations. The work is varied and requires a clear, confident and flexible leadership style.

Duties

As a cross-administrative principal, you are responsible for:

• Temporarily leading preschools and/or compulsory schools when the regular principal is absent or when the business has special needs.
• Assume full responsibility for operations, staff, work environment, finances and pupils/children at the unit you serve.
• Quickly familiarize yourself with new operations and their organization, routines and ongoing processes.
• Support units during reorganizations, development work or temporary challenges.
• Serve as a mentor or support for new principals when needed.
• Ensure that the operations comply with school law, curriculum, governing documents and municipal guidelines.
• Be a supporting part of STAB and contribute to the administration's development, processes and quality work.

The assignment involves flexibility, where travel within the municipality occurs and where the workplace can vary over time.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a pedagogical university education and a solid experience of pedagogical work. You have many years of experience as a principal and have completed the state principal program. To succeed in the assignment, you need to be well anchored in the school's governing documents, routines and digital systems and have a confident ability to orient yourself in various administrative and educational contexts.

We are looking for a leader who is characterized by clarity, structure and stability, and who is also relationship-building and responsive. You enjoy working in a role characterized by variety and change, where you need to be able to adapt your leadership to the needs of each unit. You see the value of working in several different activities over time, and you are motivated by the opportunity to gain a broad and deep holistic view of the municipality's overall school activities through your ambulant assignment.

B driving license is a requirement for the position.

Strong emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

In the framework of the National Minority Languages Act, Gällivare municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli and Finnish. Knowledge of one of these languages is an advantage when applying for employment in Gällivare municipality.

Working hours/Duration

Full-time with permanent employment as a principal in Gällivare municipality, the ambulant assignment runs on a three-year appointment. You report to the Head of Administration.
