We are now looking for a librarian who wants to work with us. In addition to a librarian's regular duties, you will also be part of the journey towards our new library and Gällivare's new meeting place.

Library activities in Gällivare are facing one of their most exciting development journeys. Within a few years, we will move into a brand new library in Gällivare's new multi-activity building that is currently being built in the center. This is Gällivare municipality's biggest investment over time - a unique building of 20,575 square meters where culture, sports, leisure and youth activities meet under the same roof. The new multi-activity center will also be one of Sweden's largest wooden buildings. Here, sport and culture will meet on every floor and create completely new opportunities for people to meet, be inspired and experience things together - a common meeting place for the whole community. Now we are looking for you who want to be part of this journey and you who see the library as opportunities for meetings and inspiration.

Work tasks

As a librarian with us, you will be an important part of the library's development - both in the daily work and for the future. You will meet people of different ages and life situations and contribute to the library continuing to be an open, welcoming and inspiring meeting place.

You will, among other things, work with this:

• work with media management and development of the library's range
• library service and staffing in the library's activities
• meets and guides visitors in information searches and literature issues
• plans and implements reading promotion initiatives
• participates in development work for the library of the future

We are looking for you who want to contribute with ideas, commitment and curiosity in an activity that is in development.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a degree in library and information science or other education that the employer considers equivalent.

It is advantageous if you have experience of library work and reading promotion work and are used to meeting and dealing with different target groups. We would like to see that you have an interest in reading promotion work, good knowledge of literature, confident working in digital environments and enjoy meeting people. As a person, you are enterprising and creative. You enjoy collaborating, are flexible and see opportunities in change and development. Good hospitality and great service skills are qualities we value highly. Great importance is attached to personal suitability. Within the framework of the National Minority Languages Act, Gällivare municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli and Finnish. Knowledge of any of these languages is an advantage when applying for employment in Gällivare municipality

B driving license is an advantage.

Arbetstid/Varaktighet

100 % tillsvidareanställning. Probationary period 6 months.

Monthly salary. We apply individual salary setting - please state salary claims.
