The leisure unit operates and manages sports and leisure facilities in Gällivare municipality. We exist for the citizens of the municipality and the purpose of our activities is to provide conditions for a rich and active leisure time. We offer opportunities for activities of various kinds through our various sports and wellness facilities. We are also responsible for grants and other support to associations. The position is based at the swimming hall in Hakkas, but work at other facilities may be relevant in the future.

Duties

You will work at Hakkas swimming hall, mainly as a lifeguard. The position involves afternoon and evening duties on weekdays. Lifeguard duties in the municipality's other swimming pools during other working hours may occur. The work in the swimming pool involves swimming lessons, general surveillance, cleaning, cashier service and customer reception. Your duties will also involve some operation and maintenance work and other property maintenance. This includes periodic checks, repairs, supervision and maintenance, and emergency services. The work is performed with a high degree of autonomy. As a lifeguard, you are service-oriented, have good social skills and enjoy meeting our customers, both private individuals and representatives from the association life. it is important that you have good cooperation skills. Qualifications

Good water skills are a requirement. Before employment, tests in Lifesaving and CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) must be approved. Lifeguard training or other training in aquatic activities/swim instruction and experience in similar tasks is an advantage. For caretaker tasks, plumbing or electrical qualifications are an advantage. A B driving license is a requirement. The work is carried out in close contact with various employees at our facilities and therefore you should have easy social contacts and be able to create trusting relationships. Your ability to cooperate and adapt to different working conditions is important. Great importance is attached to personal suitability, and an extract from the police's criminal record must be presented upon employment. Within the framework of the National Minority Languages Act, Gällivare municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli and Finnish. Knowledge of one of these languages is an advantage when applying for employment in Gällivare municipality.
