Description of Operations

The Functional Support Department offers support and services to children, youth, and adults with disabilities. We work in accordance with the Act Concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments (LSS) and the Social Services Act to strengthen individuals’ independence, security, and participation.

The department provides daily activities, special-service housing, housing for social support, supported and service-based housing, short-term housing for children, recreational activities, respite and companion services, and personal assistance.

The Functional Support Department makes a real difference in people’s daily lives and creates the conditions for an independent and meaningful life for everyone.

Job Responsibilities

As a support assistant, you will work in accordance with the users’ individual implementation plans as well as the department’s guidelines and objectives. You will support service users in their daily lives with cooking, shopping, household chores, leisure activities, and more. We use a low-affect approach and visual aids in our daily work.

You must be able to work independently and in collaboration with other staff and professionals. The role includes administrative tasks such as documentation and ordering supplies. The facility has common areas for which you, together with your colleagues in the workgroup, are responsible.

We are looking for someone who is willing to work night shifts every other week. We have a dynamic organization, which means that work schedules may change if the needs of the service users change.

Qualifications

You have nursing training or other education that the employer deems equivalent. Knowledge and experience in the field of disabilities, developmental disabilities, autism, psychiatry, or methodologies adapted for people with disabilities are a plus. You must be able to express yourself well, both verbally and in writing, in Swedish in order to document matters in accordance with applicable legislation. As a person, you are confident and assured in your role and have a strong ability to act professionally in all situations that arise.

Great importance is placed on personal suitability.
