Description of Operations

The Department of Health and Social Care consists of five units: Enen, Forsgläntan, Älvgården, Dementia, and Short-Term Care.

The Department of Health and Social Care provides housing for older adults with extensive care needs in accordance with the Social Services Act. We offer a safe and personalized living environment with access to nursing care and supervision around the clock. Our work is based on the individual’s needs, wishes, and self-determination. Through a person-centered approach, we ensure that each resident receives an individualized care plan. The facility systematically focuses on quality, documentation, and follow-up in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

Job Responsibilities

As a nursing assistant at Älvgården, you’ll work closely with residents to provide them with a safe and comfortable daily life. You will support and assist with tasks such as meals, hygiene, medication, dressing and undressing, and social interaction. The role also includes documentation, creating care plans, serving as a representative, and acting as a point of contact.

Qualifications

We’re looking for someone with a healthcare education or other training deemed equivalent by the employer, or who has experience in healthcare and senior care, with a genuine commitment to older adults and their well-being. Social interaction and human connection are a natural part of your day. You create a pleasant atmosphere where older adults feel seen and heard. You are flexible, collaborate closely with your colleagues, and contribute to a workplace characterized by consideration and team spirit. You express yourself well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing, and possess the digital skills required for documentation in accordance with the Social Services Act. Great importance is placed on personal suitability. Under the National Minority Languages Act, Gällivare Municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli, and Finnish. Knowledge of any of these languages is considered a plus when applying for a position with Gällivare Municipality. 

A criminal record check must be provided upon hiring.

Work Hours/Duration

Permanent position, 100% day/evening/weekend. A probationary period may apply.
