The Department of Functional Support within the social services offers support and services to both adults and children / young people. Here we work to create an inclusive and safe society. The department is responsible for interventions within the Act on Support and Service for Certain Persons with Disabilities (LSS) and social support/social psychiatry. The department is responsible for activities such as daily activities, housing with special service, SoL housing, short-term housing for children, personal assistance and leisure activities within LSS - a broad and dynamic business where we together create security and shape the future.
The pedagogical team consists of four educators who interact with each other and you are directly subordinate to the head of department. The pedagogical team acts as a support function for users and staff.
Duties
You are placed in the pedagogical team focusing on the department's functional support's various homes with support for users and staff in the area. The tasks include developing pedagogical methods with the support of evidence-based knowledge, as well as monitoring research and new findings in the field. The work also includes documentation.
You carry out cognitive and communicative assessments and produce aids aimed at increased participation and independence of the user. You guide, train and support employees in their assignments and work based on plans and methods. You work closely with the unit manager, other educators, nurses, occupational therapists and physiotherapists, etc.
Qualifications
You must have a university / college education as an occupational therapist, in pedagogy, preferably a special educator or other education that the employer considers equivalent. Education and experience in the LSS field is meritorious.
The work involves a great deal of independence and we are therefore looking for you who can work independently and take responsibility, are easy to take your own initiative and can be flexible. We are looking for you who have a present and responsive approach and have good collaboration skills to work in teams as you interact with many actors. We want you to see opportunities and be open to innovation. You must have the ability to motivate users and coworkers.
As there are requirements for documentation in the service, you must have good computer skills and express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish.

In the framework of the National Minority Languages Act, Gällivare municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli and Finnish. Knowledge of one of these languages is an advantage when applying for employment in Gällivare municipality.
