Fjälldalens Preschool is a six-classroom preschool located close to nature and the mountains, where you, as an educator, will have a unique opportunity to help shape the preschool of the future. The preschool opened in January 2025, and we’re now looking for someone who wants to join a wonderful team of colleagues and build a long-term career at the preschool. At the preschool, we support our children in their earliest educational experiences and their first steps in lifelong learning—and as a preschool teacher, you play a vital role.

Job Responsibilities

As a preschool teacher, you’ll be part of a team and will be responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating the education provided to the children. You collaborate with your team to provide the children with fun and educational instruction and learning experiences. As a preschool teacher, you have a special responsibility to lead the goal-oriented processes and, in your teaching, ensure that:

• care, development, and learning form a cohesive whole,
• planning and implementation are based on the curriculum and on the knowledge and experiences the children have previously acquired,
• spontaneously arising activities and interests, as well as everyday activities and routines at the preschool, become part of the teaching, and
• develop educational content and environments that inspire development and learning, challenge and stimulate the children’s interest and curiosity, and hold their attention.

Qualifications

We are looking for a licensed preschool teacher.

It is important:

• that you are thoroughly familiar with the curriculum (Lpfö18),
• that you are a confident and clear leader, take initiative, are positive, and have faith in children’s diverse abilities,
• that you have knowledge of and use various teaching tools,
• that you have trusting relationships with children and guardians and that you have good collaboration skills,
• that you use pedagogical discussions and pedagogical documentation in your work,
• that you use visual aids and TAKK (signs as alternative and augmentative communication),
• that you develop and drive the preschool forward in accordance with the curriculum.

Very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, is a prerequisite for this position. Great importance will be placed on personal qualities and suitability for the role. Under the National Minority Languages Act, Gällivare Municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli, and Finnish. Proficiency in any of these languages is considered an asset when applying for employment with Gällivare Municipality.

For this position, you must provide an extract from the Swedish Police’s criminal record registry (https://polisen.se/tjanster-tillstand/belastningsregistret/skola-eller-forskola/) and present a valid ID card indicating your citizenship as well as a valid work permit.

Work Hours/Duration

Preschool teacher, 100%, a probationary period may apply.

Monthly salary—we use individual salary determination. Please include your salary expectations in your application.
