Maria preschool is located in central Gällivare close to the library, swimming pool and museum. We have organized the activities in age-divided groups. The preschool consists of 2 buildings with separate courtyards. In one building there are 3 departments with children aged 1-2 years. In the other building there are 5 departments with children in age-divided groups aged 3-5 years. At Maria Preschool, we work in 3, 4, and 5-year-old groups, which means that the teams collaborate across the departments and give the children the opportunity to explore and discover different learning environments.

Tasks

As a preschool teacher with us, you will have a central role in shaping the children's learning and development. You lead the teaching and educational work in close collaboration with the team.

• You inspire and guide the children through teaching.
• You support and challenge each child to develop their abilities, grow in their curiosity and discover new skills.
• You provide security and care in all everyday situations, always with the children's best interests in focus.
• You create good relationships with the children's guardians through open and trusting cooperation.
• You take care of documentation and contribute to continuous quality work that drives the business forward.
• You create engaging activities that are fun, meaningful and adapted to the children's needs and interests - both indoors and outdoors.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a trained preschool teacher and thus eligible for legitimation. We would like to see that you have previous experience of working in a group of children. You have a positive approach and interest in developing working methods and sharing knowledge and experience with colleagues. Within the framework of the National Minority Languages Act, Gällivare municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli and Finnish. Knowledge of one of these languages is an advantage when applying for employment in Gällivare municipality.

You need to provide an extract from the police's criminal record for work in schools and childcare when hiring.
