Duties

As a principal, you are responsible for leading, developing and following up the activities based on the curriculum, the Education Act and the national and local goals. The assignment means that you have overall responsibility for:

• driving educational leadership and creating good conditions for learning and development
• personnel responsibility, including recruitment, employee interviews and skills development
• financial and budget responsibility and ensuring good use of resources
• systematic quality work, where you plan, follow up and analyze the activities
• work environment responsibility and to work for a safe and inclusive environment for both children and employees
• cooperation and dialogue with guardians, colleagues and other partners

as principal, you are directly subordinate to the deputy head of administration and are part of the administration's management team. You will be part of a committed college of principals where we work closely together and together drive the development of the preschool throughout the municipality.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have:

• relevant higher education and pedagogical insight through education and experience
• experience in similar assignments (meritorious)
• completed principal training, or readiness to start it within two years in the case of permanent employment
• ability to be a clear educational leader with good collaboration skills
• drive, creativity and ability to inspire and support staff in the educational work
• driving license

We attach great importance to personal suitability.Within the framework of the National Minority Languages Act, Gällivare municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli and Finnish. Knowledge of any of these languages is an advantage.

Extracts from the police's criminal record are a requirement.

Working hours/Duration

75%-.100% permanent position as principal in preschool, which can be combined with another position within Gällivare municipality's preschool unit. Probationary period may be applied.
