Do you want to be Gällivare municipality's new purchaser?
We are looking for a driven and self-driven person who wants to continue to develop Gällivare's work with purchasing. You will be part of a committed, social and driven team that works with interesting assignments in an exciting environment.

The position is located at the Purchasing Unit, which is a municipality-wide resource with the task of being responsible for the municipality's purchasing and procurement process. Your organizational affiliation is under the Finance Department, which is a department within the Support and Development Administration. The unit consists of three procurement officers, a purchasing controller and a unit manager.

Tasks

The role of Procurement Officer offers you a stimulating and varied job with many internal and external contacts. The work involves a project management and consultative role regarding contracts and procurement issues towards operations and suppliers. You will work independently on development and contribute to the strategic work to ensure a functioning public service for the benefit of both citizens and business.

As a procurement officer with us, your main duties will include:

  • Independent implementation of procurements: Be responsible for planning and implementing procurements of varying sizes, where you combine independence with close cooperation with employees within the municipality and companies to ensure a smooth process.

  • Create procurement plans: Design and implement procurement plans to lead the work through the entire purchasing process, from needs analysis to contract implementation.

    • Relationship Building: Develop and maintain long-term and mutually beneficial relationships with existing and potential suppliers.

    • Market Analysis and Identification: Conduct continuous analysis of the market to identify potential suppliers and goods/services that best meet the needs and requirements of the municipality.

    Qualifications

    We are looking for you who have post-secondary education relevant to the field, preferably in economics, law, purchasing or other background that the employer deems appropriate. It is meritorious if you have experience of similar tasks in purchasing/procurement or other financial management, but if you lack experience, we offer introduction and training.

    As a person, you have good communication skills and are easy to build trust. Furthermore, you are driven, enterprising and you like to plan and structure your work. You can easily express yourself in Swedish in speech and writing. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

    Within the framework of the National Minority Languages Act, Gällivare municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli and Finnish. Knowledge of one of these languages is an advantage when applying for employment in Gällivare municipality.
