Puoltikasvaara is located 5 miles north of Gällivare, beautifully situated by Lake Soutujärvi. The children in our preschool and school come from the villages of Skaulo, Puoltikasvaara and Lappeasuando. The preschool consists of one department and is located in the same building as the school and after-school center. There is close cooperation between the units. The building has recently been renovated and offers a very nice indoor environment with well thought-out learning environments. Nature is just outside the classrooms!

Duties

As a language support worker, you work to support our North Sami speaking children in the preschool and in the preschool class. You are part of the preschool's work team and in joint planning the work is organized and adapted linguistically. You follow the Sami speaking children in the daily activities, and are responsible for activities in the North Sami language and culture.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have documented language skills in North Sami. Experience from pedagogical work is an advantage. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

Within the framework of the National Minority Languages Act, Gällivare municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli and Finnish. Knowledge of one of these languages is an advantage when applying for employment in Gällivare municipality.

Hours of work/Duration

Temporary position, daytime. Provided that the necessary decisions are made.
