
Description of Operations
The Social Services Administration carries out activities mandated by law in accordance with the Social Services Act, the Health and Medical Care Act, and the Act on Support and Services for Certain Persons with Disabilities. Based on democratic principles, the Social Services Administration shall promote people’s economic and social security, equality in living conditions, and active participation in society, while also providing quality care, health and medical care, and services to older adults, people with disabilities, and others who need societal support.
The Social Services Administration consists of the Assistance Unit, the Department of Care and Nursing, the Department of Functional Support, the Department of Home Care, the Management Support Organization, and the Health and Medical Care Organization.
The position of rehabilitation assistant is within the Health and Medical Care Organization, and our mission encompasses ordinary housing, special housing for the elderly, and LSS/psychiatry.
Job Responsibilities
As a rehabilitation assistant, you will work under the direction of a licensed occupational therapist or physical therapist and help ensure high quality and continuity in rehabilitation efforts. The role involves practical and varied work in which you play a key part in creating the conditions for the individual’s independence.
You will primarily work on preparing, carrying out, and following up on interventions as prescribed by the occupational therapist or physical therapist, as well as assisting with administrative and practical aspects of the operation.

A Class B driver’s license is required

Under the National Minority Languages Act, Gällivare Municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli, and Finnish. Knowledge of any of these languages is considered an asset when applying for employment with Gällivare Municipality.
Work Hours/Duration
Full-time, fixed-term position through January 31, 2027, with the possibility of extension. Work Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week.
