Description of Operations

Hello! Are you our new colleague?

We are currently looking for a staff member for Fjälldalens Preschool.

Fjälldalens Preschool is a six-classroom preschool located close to nature and the mountains, which opened in January 2025. We’re looking for someone who wants to join a wonderful group of colleagues and work as a support staff member on our team. At the preschool, we support our children in their earliest educational experiences and their first steps in lifelong learning—and that’s where you, as a support staff member, play a vital role. We’re looking for someone who is dedicated and eager to work with children who need special support.

Job Responsibilities

Working as a support staff member means you’ll be an additional member of the team, enabling the preschool to meet the needs of children requiring special support. You’ll be part of the preschool’s work team, and together you’ll design a safe, stimulating, and developmental educational and learning environment for the children, guided by the curriculum (Lpfö18), which outlines the work and education the preschool offers the children. Together, the team designs the educational program so that children with special needs receive the support and challenges they require for their development, and so that they are stimulated and grow through their play and learning.

Qualifications

We are looking for qualified early childhood educators with solid experience working with children who require special support.

It is important:

  • that you are familiar with our guiding document, the Preschool Curriculum (Lpfö18),
  • that you are a confident and clear leader, take the initiative easily, are positive, and have faith in the children’s diverse abilities,
  • that you are solution-oriented, flexible, and innovative,
  • that you value trusting relationships with children and guardians and have strong collaboration skills,
  • that you use visual aids and TAKK (signs as an alternative and complementary form of communication).
  • Excellent knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, is a prerequisite for this position. Great importance will be placed on personal qualities and suitability for the role.
  • Under the National Minority Languages Act, Gällivare Municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli, and Finnish. Proficiency in any of these languages is considered an asset when applying for employment with Gällivare Municipality.

This position requires an extract from the Police Criminal Records Registry, https://polisen.se/tjanster-tillstand/belastningsregistret/skola-eller-forskola/ and that you present a valid ID card indicating your citizenship as well as a valid work permit.
