Description of activities
Pupil health care should be seen as an area of activity that includes medical, psychological, psychosocial and special educational interventions and is part of the school's learning mission and the overall work for good health. The promotional and preventive work should be emphasized and conducted salutogenic and with an inclusive approach.
Work tasks
You will belong to the central student health in the municipality, your colleagues at the student health are school counselors, school nurses, school doctors, special educators, school psychologists and administrators. A close and developing cooperation within the central student health is an important and fundamental part of the work. You will be placed in one or more of the municipality's schools. There you usually work alone, but with the support of colleagues, which requires great independence.
As a school nurse in Gällivare municipality, you will work with a health promotion and prevention perspective. Your duties include health visits and vaccinations according to the basic program. You also have your own open reception for simpler medical tasks and reception together with the school doctor. You are part of the schools' student health team and contribute with medical and nursing expertise in student health work.
The work as a school nurse is varied and you interact with internal and external actors such as social services and the Region.
Qualifications
Specialist nursing program with a focus on health care for children and adolescents or specialist nursing program with a focus on district nurse or school nurse. Previous experience of working with children and young people and student health is an advantage. A good communication ability and social skills are of the utmost importance as the work involves a lot of contact with students, parents, staff and principals.
The position requires a B driving license and access to your own car
When hired - extract from the police's criminal record.
Strong emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
In the framework of the National Minority Languages Act, Gällivare municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli and Finnish. Knowledge of one of these languages is an advantage when applying for employment in Gällivare municipality.

Working hours / Duration
We are looking for a 100% position as a school nurse. You will have vacation duty with a flexitime agreement.
Probationary period will be applied for the position.
