
Business description
The finance department consists of financial control/accounting, financial administrators and purchasing. The financial control unit manages the municipality's overall accounting, budget, financial statements and follow-up processes. The financial control unit compiles the municipality's ongoing accounting, bookkeeping, financial statements, banking and finance issues and assists the administrations, committees and boards with qualified controller support in financial and strategic issues. In addition to the senior accountant, the unit consists of five controllers and an accountant. The financial administration is eight people and five people in purchasing.
Your organizational affiliation is under the Support and Development Administration (SoU), it is the municipality's central competence for development, administration, finance, personnel, IT and information. Your position is located in the Finance Department/Financial Control Unit and you will report directly to the Head of Finance.
Duties
The Financial Control/Accounting Unit is going through a period of change and we want you to be open to working on and developing all the tasks that occur in our unit. The financial office has changed financial system in 2025 to Unit4 so the financial processes will continue to develop. E-commerce is intended to be introduced within the municipality to improve the management of purchases.

Qualifications
We are looking for you who have a university degree in financial management or other level of education and experience that the employer considers relevant. You have in-depth knowledge of accounting issues. Experience of working in an accounting firm or in public administration is an advantage but not a requirement. We would like to see that you have experience from system management and work with asset registers.
We are looking for a curious and ambitious economist with a structured approach. You are driven by developing processes, take initiative, achieve results and have the ability to weigh together complex information. Collaboration at all levels along with good service, having a pedagogical vein, being solution-focused and personal integrity are a matter of course for you.
As documentation and communication are included in the tasks, you have a good ability to express yourself both orally and in writing in the Swedish language. As a person, you are confident, stable and have self-awareness. You enjoy networking and find it easy to make contact with others in the organization. Your curiosity is what drives your work forward and you strive for development and do not shy away from taking on new challenges. You are self-motivated, take responsibility for your tasks and are pedagogical in your consultative role. You find it easy to structure your work and have the ability to prioritize.
We assume that you have a good command of Office packages, especially Excel, and that you are easy to express yourself in speech and writing. Experience of having worked in the systems Å-data or Hypergene is meritorious.
Within the framework of the National Minority Languages Act, Gällivare municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli and Finnish. Knowledge of one of these languages is an advantage when applying for employment in Gällivare municipality.
