In Gällivare municipality, we have a unit with all authority in the areas of social services. The welfare unit's organization is divided into two operational parts of the exercise of authority within the social administration, each activity has an operational manager, one for the group of children and young people and one for the group of adults, in addition there is a coordinator in each activity. The activities for children and young people consist of social workers who investigate children and young people, family law, family home care, outpatient care, LSS and family counseling.

Work tasks
As a social worker at Children and Youth, you work mainly with SoL and LVU. You work with families based on reports received or applications from guardians or young people. The tasks include working with follow-up for children and young people in open initiatives that the unit's outpatient care implements, but also follow-ups of placements in family homes and HVB. We strive to provide families with support at an early stage and as far as possible we work with home placement solutions.
The work includes collaboration with other colleagues in our business as well as collaboration internally and externally. The service includes on-call duty.
Qualifications
We are looking for you with a social worker degree. You can work independently with case management and have good knowledge of current legislation. It is an advantage if you have previous experience of the work, have training in BBIC, MI, Sign of safety, child interviews or other relevant in-depth knowledge. As a person, you are easy to cooperate with others but also able to work independently. You should have an empathetic ability, easy to communicate with clients, relatives and coworkers. You are service-oriented, solution-focused and flexible as the work can involve urgent decisions. You need to be confident in yourself and have the ability to set boundaries and have a professional approach. You should be able to express yourself well in speech and writing. Great importance is attached to personal suitability. Under the National Minority Languages Act, Gällivare municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli and Finnish. Knowledge of one of these languages is an advantage when applying for employment in Gällivare municipality.
Driving license B is required.
