
Business description
We are now looking for an employee for our school social team, which is an initiative where schools and social services work together to strengthen children's conditions for success in school and in life. The mission is about building trust, creating presence and contributing to security in everyday life.
You may come from a position as a psychologist, counselor or similar and want to challenge your knowledge in our school social team. You are organizationally placed within the children and education administration and your immediate manager will be the Operations Manager for student health.
Your daily workplace will be mainly in a school environment, where you work closely with school staff, student health and guardians.
Duties
In the role, you work preventively and relationship-building. You meet children and families in their everyday lives, pick up signals early and contribute with support before difficulties deepen. The work involves close interaction between several actors and requires both structure and flexibility.

Qualifications
We are looking for you who have relevant education in the field of children and youth and experience of working with students with high absenteeism. You have a good knowledge of the mission of student health, the School Act and legislation in the field and thrive in collaboration with other professions. Experience of preventive work or school-related social work is an advantage, as well as a psychology degree or school counselor degree.
As a person, you are confident and relationship-building. You have the ability to create trust in the meeting with children and guardians and are both responsive and clear in your communication. You work in a structured way but are flexible when the situation requires it, and you actively contribute to both your own work and the team's development.
You have very good communication skills in both speech and writing and thrive in interaction with both managers, employees and political representatives.
You will be part of a close collaboration between school and social services, especially in the school social team.
Strong emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
Within the framework of the National Minority Languages Act, Gällivare municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli and Finnish. Knowledge of any of these languages is an advantage when applying for employment in Gällivare municipality.
Working hours/Duration
The position is full-time (100%) and limited in time until 27-06-30 with the possibility of extension. Working hours are scheduled during the day.
B driving license is required and an extract from the criminal record must be presented before employment.
