Description of Operations

Hedskolan is a pleasant preschool through 6th grade school and an adapted elementary school with approximately 500 students, located in a residential neighborhood close to downtown. The proximity to both the forest and ski trails is significant, and these areas are frequently used by students and teachers during lessons and recesses. The teaching teams are organized by educational stage and grade level, working closely together to support all of our students. The atmosphere is characterized by openness and curiosity toward new ways of working. We place great emphasis on pedagogical discussions and collegial learning, which are the driving forces behind our development efforts. The school’s focus is on physical activity and outdoor life.

Job Responsibilities

As a student assistant, you are responsible for supporting students throughout the school day based on their individually tailored goals and plans. You will assist and provide care for students in activities that take place both at school and during after-school programs, working closely with educators and the students’ guardians.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a high school diploma or other education that the employer deems equivalent. As a person, you should be positive and have an attentive and responsive approach to students’ diverse needs. You foster engagement and participation, are a clear leader, and have strong collaborative skills. You are also flexible, independent, responsible, and able to take the initiative. Great importance is placed on personal suitability. Under the National Minority Languages Act, Gällivare Municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli, and Finnish.
