About Us

Myranskolan is a K–6 school with approximately 150 students and an after-school program, located in Koskullskulle. The school employs teachers and homeroom teachers who are jointly responsible for the students’ academic development, well-being, and social interactions.

The after-school program complements the school’s instruction and offers meaningful leisure time where the students’ interests, participation, and various forms of expression are the focus. The school also has special education teachers, a school counselor, and a school nurse who work as a team to create positive and accessible learning environments for all students.

Job Responsibilities

As a student assistant, you are part of the school’s student-centered work and accompany a class or a student in grades FSK–6 during the school day. You will work closely with teachers and other staff to foster a sense of security, well-being, and a conducive learning environment, as well as contribute to an accessible learning environment where students are given the opportunity to develop and reach their full potential.

The role involves:

  • serving as an active resource in the classroom and at the after-school program and supporting a specific student.
  • providing support to students who need extra accommodations in academic and social situations
  • contributing to structure, predictability, and clarity in the school day
  • supporting students during breaks, transitions, and group activities
  • collaborating with guardians on issues related to the student’s school situation, in dialogue with the responsible teacher
  • participate in documentation related to the school’s work with norms and values

The role also includes working in the after-school program before and after the school day, as well as substituting for staff members when they are absent, as needed.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

  • at least a high school diploma, preferably with training in the Child and Leisure Program or equivalent
  • experience working with children and young people in schools, after-school programs, or other educational settings
  • a good understanding of the school’s core values and work with safety, relationships, and group processes

It is advantageous if you have:

  • experience working with students in need of extra support, for example in the area of neuropsychological disorders
  • experience working in accessible learning environments or with students with medical or physical needs.
  • Under the National Minority Language Act, Gällivare Municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli, and Finnish. Knowledge of any of these languages is a plus when applying for a position in Gällivare Municipality

You are confident in your professional role, have good collaboration skills, and treat students, colleagues, and guardians with professionalism. You work independently, take initiative, and have strong communication skills, as well as proficiency in spoken and written Swedish. Great importance is placed on personal suitability.

An extract from the police criminal record is required.

Working Hours/Duration

Fixed-term employment for 6 months, from August 10, 2026 – January 10, 2026, with the possibility of extension.
