Description of Operations

Tallbacka Preschool is a three-section preschool located in the same building as Tallbacka School in the Mellanområdet neighborhood of Gällivare. The classes are currently mixed-age groups for children ages 1–5, with a maximum of 18 children in each group. The preschool is very close to nature in the Mellanområdet neighborhood and uses this natural environment as a learning setting in its teaching with the children.

Tallbacka Preschool operates based on sustainable development and gender equality, with a clear focus on the 2018 Preschool Curriculum. Tallbacka Preschool, together with Granbacka and Aurora Preschools, is part of a collegial network where we collaborate and exchange experiences. Our operations are safe and well-established. We use a project-based approach in our work with the children, and it is the children’s interests and input that form the basis for how our teaching is structured. We spend a lot of time outdoors and use nature as a foundation for the children’s learning and development.

Job Responsibilities

As a substitute teacher, you’ll work daytime hours, Monday through Friday, and be offered meaningful, varied, and responsible work. The department you work in will vary depending on the preschool’s daily needs.

It is a varied role where you’ll have the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of the preschool’s operations, from the youngest children up to the oldest.

You’ll participate in carrying out activities planned in accordance with the Preschool Curriculum (Lpfö).

Qualifications

We’re looking for someone who works well with others, is flexible, and has a professional attitude.

If you have experience working in preschool, we view that as a plus!

This position requires an extract from the Police’s Suspected Offenses and Criminal Records Registry, as well as presentation of valid identification.

Great importance is placed on personal suitability.

Under the National Minority Languages Act, Gällivare Municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli, and Finnish. Knowledge of any of these languages is a plus when applying for a position with Gällivare Municipality.
