The Department of Functional Support offers support and services to children, young people and adults with disabilities. We work on the basis of LSS and the Social Services Act to strengthen the individual's independence, security and participation. The department includes daily activities, housing with special service, housing for social support, support and service housing, short-term housing for children, leisure activities, relief and companion services and personal assistance. The Department of Functional Support makes a real difference in people's everyday lives, and creates the conditions for an independent and meaningful life.
Work tasks
Höken's daily activities work together with users who have efforts according to LSS. Your role is to, based on each user's needs, conditions and interests, provide properly designed educational support to develop the ability for independence and participation in society. You are responsible for educational planning in consultation with other employees and with the support of the Education Team within Functional Support. We use, among other things, image support, AAC (Alternative Communication). Your work also includes caring for the users.
Qualifications
You have training as a support educator, special educator, leisure educator or other education that the employer considers equivalent. Experience in the LSS field is an advantage. You contribute with a stable calm, great patience and are responsive. Flexibility is a great asset as you will smoothly adapt the work to the user's daily form and changing conditions. We attach great importance to you being cooperative and concerned about good relationships with both colleagues, relatives and benefactors. You must be able to express yourself well in speech and writing in the Swedish language. The activities involve physical activities together with users and you must therefore have basic physical ability and an interest in planning and carrying out activities. Great importance is attached to personal suitability. Under the National Minority Languages Act, Gällivare municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli and Finnish. Knowledge of any of these languages is an advantage when applying for employment in Gällivare municipality.
