Description of Operations

Myranskolan has approximately 150 students from preschool through 6th grade, as well as an after-school care program. The school is located in Koskullskulle. Myranskolan has one lead teacher and one class mentor who primarily focuses on the social aspects of the curriculum in each class in grades 1–6. The after-school program complements the school curriculum by helping students develop their abilities through various forms of expression, based on their interests. The school also has special education teachers, a school counselor, and a school nurse who collaborate as a team for the students’ best interests.

Job Responsibilities

Your main responsibilities will include teaching, planning, and assessment for grades 4–6. You will collaborate with other educators. You will handle day-to-day interactions with students, colleagues, and parents or guardians. You will actively participate in the school’s collaborative development efforts alongside colleagues both within and outside your own school. You will also participate in teaching at the after-school program.

Qualifications

We are looking for a certified teacher for grades 4–6. You must be proficient in using computers and technology in your daily work. You should be responsible, clear, and driven, and find it easy to build good relationships with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues. Commitment, innovation, and an interest in and ability to collaborate are qualities that the school values. Great importance is placed on personal suitability. Under the National Minority Languages Act, Gällivare Municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli, and Finnish. Knowledge of any of these languages is considered a plus when applying for a position with Gällivare Municipality.   

This position requires an extract from the Police’s Suspect and Criminal Records Registry.

Work Hours/Duration

Full-time, permanent position. A probationary period may apply.
