Description of activities

In Gällivare municipality there are a total of 9 primary schools both in the central town and around our villages in the countryside. In Gällivare municipality's primary school, in addition to basic teachers, there are also first teachers, special educators, special teachers, counselor, school nurse, class mentors, student assistants / resource. In grades 1-6 there are also class mentors at our schools and in the urban area there are school hosts in grades 7-9.

Work tasks

The work as a language teacher in North Sami takes place on a part-time or remote basis. If you want to work full-time, the position can be combined with other subjects. When you start a new position as a teacher in Gällivare municipality, you are offered supervision by an experienced teacher for 1 year, a mentor who will support you in your new position. When it comes to language choice, we can also have remote teaching.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are licensed to teach North Sami in primary school. Commitment, solution focus, flexibility, innovation, interest and ability to cooperate are qualities that Gällivare municipality's primary school values. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

For employment, an extract from the police's criminal record is required.

Within the framework of the National Minority Languages Act, Gällivare municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli and Finnish. Knowledge of one of these languages is an advantage when applying for employment in Gällivare municipality.

Working hours/Duration
