Business description
Emmaskolan i Mettä Dokkas is a growing primary school in the countryside of Gällivare municipality. It includes preschool class, after-school care and grades 1-6. The school has about 50 pupils from Dokkas, Mettä Dokkas, Leipojärvi and surrounding villages, with a steady influx. Adjacent to the school is the newly built Emma preschool with two departments. The school has close access to large natural areas that are used in all the pupils' activities.
Emmaskolan is a small school where we develop close relationships and dare to succeed and fail together. Our vision is "For a future where everything is possible!". We are constantly developing our teaching and learning environments to give students the best possible conditions for learning.
Hakka's school in the same principal's area has been granted an ERASMUS+ accreditation for 2021-2027. This means continuous cooperation projects with other schools around Europe with the possibility of travel within the service for all participating educators, from both Hakka's school and Emma's school. The goals of the ERASMUS+ work are to collaborate with other schools in Europe that have similar challenges as we have, to strengthen the students' motivation to read several languages, further develop distance learning and give students and teachers the opportunity to look at their own hometown from new perspectives.

Work tasks
The position is part-time, combined with a position as a student assistant 100%. You will be employed as a teacher, until further notice if you are licensed, otherwise on a fixed-term basis according to the School Act. You are responsible for teaching art and physical education in grades 1-6. You are part of a team and are responsible for all students' learning together with other educators in the team. We distribute services across all grades based on legitimation and adapt the distribution of teaching according to your competence.
Qualifications
Teacher degree with competence in art, sports and crafts for grades 1-6.
Extracts from the criminal record for work in schools are a requirement.
We are looking for you who have a present and responsive approach to students' different needs, are a clear leader and have good collaboration skills. You are independent, responsible and have the ability to take your own initiatives. We develop our work through pedagogical discussions and collegial learning and see it as a strength to be able to help each other to dare to be curious about new ways of working.
Strong emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
Within the framework of the National Minority Languages Act, Gällivare municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli and Finnish. Knowledge of one of these languages is an advantage when applying for employment in Gällivare municipality.
Working hours/Duration
Part-time, Full-time in combination with student assistant position, permanent employment. Probationary period may apply.
