Puoltikasvaara is located 5 miles north of Gällivare, beautifully situated by Lake Soutujärvi. The children in our school come from the villages of Skaulo, Puoltikasvaara and Moskojärvi. Puoltikasvaara school is a small school for pupils in grades F-6, where classes consist of between 4-8 pupils. The school is located in the same building as the preschool and works closely with both the preschool and the after-school program. The school has recently been renovated and offers a very nice indoor environment.

Tasks

As a teaching assistant, you will support the teaching of preschool class as well as practical/aesthetic subjects and help with administrative tasks. You work closely with the teachers and contribute to creating a safe and stimulating learning environment for the students. You participate in the school's joint development work and help with practical tasks in the classroom.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have experience working with children and young people. Pedagogical training or experience is meritorious.

Requirement for employment - extract from the police's criminal record.

Strong emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

Within the framework of the National Minority Languages Act, Gällivare municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli and Finnish. Knowledge of one of these languages is an advantage when applying for employment in Gällivare municipality.

Working hours/Duration

Full-time, temporary position from March 9 until June 17, 2026.
