Business description

The position as a technician is located in the technology department within the Public Works and Technology Administration, the department is responsible for providing residents with services in the areas of water / sewage, streets, traffic, fiber and waste management. As a Technician with water and sewage, you are part of the technical department's VA unit. We are about 20 people who work together to develop the operation and maintenance of waterworks and treatment plants in Gällivare municipality. The unit is characterized by broad expertise and a team spirit based on the values of Gällivare municipality. Development issues are important to us with the goal of further strengthening Gällivare as an attractive municipality to live and work in. We work continuously with improvements in work processes and in collaboration with internal and external actors. You will be part of a team that works to ensure that our municipality is kept in a good and safe condition.

Duties

We are looking for Technicians for our waterworks. Introduction will be done with existing technicians. The role includes being involved in the daily operation of the waterworks in the municipality. This involves both monitoring and working out at the plants. As a technician, you will work together with other employees with everything from operational optimization to remedial maintenance and inspections within our plants. The work includes standby duty.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have some form of technical education or you have acquired equivalent competence through work experience that we consider equivalent to the service. Experience and knowledge in one or more of the following electrical, control and regulation, pipes, ventilation and cooling are meritorious. You have good ability to troubleshoot technical installations and carry out repairs. You have good administrative skills and computer skills as a user of support systems. You will receive induction training and additional training on an ongoing basis. To thrive as a technician, you should be able to work flexibly and adapt to unforeseen operational events. Being committed and able to take initiative is important. You should be willing to take responsibility and see what needs to be done. As the work is largely practical in nature, you must enjoy working with your hands. As a technician, you will have many contacts both internally and externally, so you should be able to cooperate easily and be service-oriented. The service is characterized by responsibility, development, commitment, cooperation and problem solving.

B driving license is a requirement.

The service is security classified and approved security clearance is a prerequisite for employment.
