Description of Operations
The Social Services Department is seeking part-time temporary staff who can work when regular staff are absent. Services are provided around the clock, every day of the year, to people who need support in their daily lives. The Social Services Department operates in the areas of Home Care (home care services), Nursing and Care (housing for the elderly), and Functional Support (e.g., group housing, daily activities, personal assistance, LSS, and SOL).
As an hourly substitute, you’ll be booked through Time Care Pool and will receive requests based on the availability you enter into the system yourself. Availability for at least two days a week is preferred. There is also the possibility of longer-term temporary positions on the schedule. We always check references, preferably from a former manager or supervisor. You may be required to provide an extract from the Police Criminal Records Registry. If you are not an EU citizen, you must present a valid work and residence permit.
You must provide a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare if you are a licensed nursing assistant in order to hold the title of nursing assistant in your employment. You must provide transcripts if you have completed an educational program, as well as a certificate of employment if you have prior experience in healthcare.
Job Responsibilities
You will work according to the patient’s care plan. Your duties will vary, and you must always provide high-quality care and support based on the individual’s needs.
Qualifications
Applicants must have a genuine interest in working with people.
We are looking for candidates with a high school diploma in healthcare and social services or other education deemed equivalent by the employer. Alternatively, you may have experience working in support, service, health care, and social services. Under the National Minority Languages Act, Gällivare Municipality is the administrative municipality for Sámi, Meänkieli, and Finnish. We value strong teamwork skills and a positive, proactive attitude when interacting with people who need support and assistance. You are flexible, responsible, and patient; you must be at least 18 years old. Sufficient proficiency in spoken and written Swedish is required to perform the job. Great emphasis will be placed on personal competencies.
It is important that you have strong digital skills, in part so that you can document information in clients’ records in accordance with the Social Services Act.
