Business description

Myranskolan is a F-6 school with about 150 students and after-school activities, located in Koskullskulle. The school employs teachers responsible for teaching and class mentors who together are responsible for the students' knowledge development, security and social context.

The after-school program complements the school's teaching and offers a meaningful leisure time where the students' interests, participation and various forms of expression are in focus. At the school there are also special teachers, school counselor and school nurse who work in teams to create good and accessible learning environments for all students.

Work tasks

As a student assistant, you are part of the school's student-related work and follow a class or a student in grades fsk -6 during the school day. You work closely with teachers and other staff to create security, well-being and study peace and contribute to an accessible learning environment where students are given the conditions to develop and reach their full potential.

The assignment involves:

  • being an active resource in the classroom and at the after-school center and supporting a specific student.
  • provide support to students in need of extra adjustments in teaching and social situations
  • contribute to structure, predictability and clarity in the school day
  • support students during breaks, transfers and joint activities
  • interact with guardians in matters relating to the student's school situation, in dialog with the responsible teacher
  • participate in documentation linked to the school's work with norms and values

The assignment also includes work in the after-school center before and after the school day and, if necessary, to substitute for staff absence.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have:

  • at least an upper secondary school diploma, preferably with education in the children's and leisure program or the equivalent
  • experience working with children and young people in schools, after-school care or other educational activities
  • good understanding of the school's values and work with safety, relationships and group processes

It is meritorious if you have:

  • experience working with students in need of extra support, for example within NPF
  • experience working in accessible learning environments or with students with medical or physical needs
  • Within the framework of the National Minority Languages Act, Gällivare municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli and Finnish. Knowledge of one of these languages is an advantage when applying for employment in Gällivare municipality.

You are confident in your professional role, have good collaboration skills and a professional approach to students, colleagues and guardians. You work independently, take initiative and have good communication skills and master Swedish in speech and writing. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
