About Us

Tallbackaskolan is a pre-K through 6th grade school with approximately 325 students, as well as an after-school program and two preparatory classes, located in a residential neighborhood between Gällivare and Malmberget. At Tallbackaskolan, we work with elements of the Gällivare Model, which means that each class in grades 1–2 has a lead teacher and a class mentor. In grades 3–6, a lead teacher works with the support of a class mentor who may be assigned to one or more classes. The central student health services are located at the school, and students have access to a school counselor, school nurse, two special education teachers, a school psychologist, and the principals. The after-school program complements the school by developing students’ abilities through various forms of expression, based on their interests.

Job Responsibilities

As a teacher, your primary focus will be on planning, teaching, assessment, and values-based education in accordance with the curriculum. The work is carried out both independently and in collaboration with colleagues at the school.

Qualifications

We are looking for a teacher qualified to teach textile crafts. You must be proficient in using computers and technology in your daily work. You should be responsible, clear, and driven, and have an easy time building good relationships with students, parents, and colleagues. Commitment, innovation, a solution-oriented mindset, and an interest in and ability to collaborate are qualities that the school values.

Great importance is placed on personal suitability.

A criminal background check is required upon employment.

Under the National Minority Language Act, Gällivare Municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli, and Finnish. Knowledge of any of these languages is a plus when applying for a position in Gällivare Municipality.

Work Hours/Duration

Part-time; full-time if you combine teaching at multiple schools or hold a teaching certification in a subject that can be combined with teaching at the school; permanent position. A probationary period may apply.
