Description of activities

The Social Administration conducts statutory activities with the support of the Social Services Act, the Health Care Act and the Act on Support and Services for Certain Disabled Persons. The Social Administration shall, on the basis of democracy, promote people's economic and social security, equality in living conditions and active participation in community life, but also provide good care, health care and service to the elderly, people with disabilities and others who need community support.

The Social Administration consists of the Assistance Unit, the Department of Care and Care, the Department of Functional Support, the Department of Home Care and the Management Support Organization. The position of unit manager for home care nurses is located within the health care organization. The unit's assignments are in special homes for the elderly, LSS and patients living in ordinary housing.

Duties

As a unit manager, you work close to the business and operationally with a clear responsibility for patients, employees, finances, work environment and business development within your business. You will lead and manage the business through a results-oriented approach based on political target management and self-monitoring. You are part of the department's healthcare management team and report directly to the head of operations. You will work to ensure a high level of patient safety and the working environment of staff. You are responsible for ensuring that the business works in accordance with current laws and procedures.

Qualifications

You have:

  • University or college education that is suitable for the assignment. Familiar with the legislative framework governing our field of activity. Meritorious if you have a health care background.
  • Experience in leadership, responsibility and used to working independently and goal-oriented.
  • Good collaboration skills with colleagues, relatives and other professional categories.
  • Aims and results-oriented and has the ability to find new solutions and opportunities in the business.
  • Basic computer skills and experience of working with different types of IT programs to support your work. Meritorious is knowledge of the programs Lifecare, Pulsen Combine, & TimeCare.
  • Driving license: B

Strong emphasis is placed on personal suitability. Within the framework of the National Minority Languages Act, Gällivare municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli and Finnish. Knowledge of one of these languages is an advantage when applying for employment in Gällivare municipality.
