Description of place of work:

The Real Estate staff area in Gjøvik municipality consists of about 100 dedicated people who build, manage, operate, maintain, develop and perform cleaning on the municipality's 149,000m2 of buildings. In addition, the municipality rents about 21,000m2.
Property has separate departments for management, operation and maintenance, energy management and technical operation, cleaning and projects.

The department for operation and maintenance has 14 employees who perform daily routines and routine maintenance at over 50 locations throughout the municipality, including schools, kindergartens, health institutions, cinemas, town halls and other buildings.

We are now looking for a dedicated painter to strengthen our work to maintain the municipality's existing building stock.

As a painter with us, you will contribute to achieving the municipality's goal of managing and developing relevant buildings and properties in a value-preserving, holistic and sustainable way to support the municipality's services.

You will work with colleagues in the maintenance department, as well as building operators and operating technicians in the property department. In addition, there will be collaboration with users of the buildings and external stakeholders.

Tasks:

  • Carry out maintenance on the municipality's property stock
  • Ensure that projects are carried out within time frames, budget and quality requirements
  • Carry out inspections in advance and estimate costs and scope
  • Map the need for upgrades
  • Manage any challenges along the way
  • Ensure that HSE is taken care of on the assignments
  • Assist other disciplines and colleagues as needed. E.g. assisting the carpenter, shoveling snow, spring cleaning and changing tires in spring and autumn

Qualifications:

  • Relevant education - professional certificate as a painter
  • Long experience from a similar job as a painter can compensate for formal education.
  • Knowledge of floor-laying is an advantage.
  • It is considered positive if you are versatile and have knowledge of several construction trades.

Driver's license class B.
