Description of place of work:

Gjøvik og Land barneverntjeneste has a vacancy for 4 x 100% permanent positions in the Investigation and Follow-up Department.

Gjøvik og Land barneverntjeneste is an inter-municipal child welfare service with Gjøvik as the host municipality. The service is responsible for municipal child welfare services in Gjøvik, Nordre Land and Søndre Land municipalities. We are organized as a service in the upbringing sector together with school, kindergarten and youth, health and coping. The service is based in Gjøvik and has meeting rooms in Nordre and Søndre Land municipalities. The service currently consists of around 60 employees.

The child welfare service must ensure that children and young people living in conditions that can harm their health and development receive the necessary help, care and protection at the right time. This means that children and families receive help that works, and that they encounter security, love, understanding and appropriate services. The child welfare service is facing new challenges and tasks in line with the child welfare reform and the new Child Welfare Act, and we are working actively to meet these both internally and in collaboration with other services.

The service is divided into subject-specific departments, respectively reception and child protection, investigation and follow-up, specialized child welfare measures, care and aftercare. We are now in the process of developing an organization for further specialization and competence development in more subject-specific areas in the service. In addition, the service has good staff and support functions. We also operate Gjøvik's inter-municipal child protection service for the municipalities of Gjøvik, Nordre and Søndre Land, Østre and Vestre Toten and Gran, as well as the supervisor scheme for the GLT region.

The Investigation and Follow-up Department has one business manager with responsibility for personnel, finance and subjects, three subject managers with delegated subject responsibility and responsibility for professional follow-up of each team and 25 contact persons distributed across the three teams. We have weekly department and team meetings, as well as monthly joint meetings for the entire service.
