Description of the workplace:

Gjøvik Municipality is seeking a dedicated, inspiring, and inclusive manager for its adapted services. Supported Services provides services to young people with various disabilities and conditions and consists of a total of 12 facilities. Three of these facilities focus primarily on providing services to people with mental health issues and substance use disorders. The position is currently administratively affiliated with the Åslundmarka Residential and Service Center. The organization consists of a 24-hour staffed residential care facility for people with mental health disorders, a team providing outpatient services for people with mental health disorders, and the municipal positions within the FACT team in the region. The user group has varying levels of functioning and receives different degrees of interdisciplinary follow-up services throughout the day. Collaboration in service delivery, professional networks, and leadership networks has been established within the service. The services provide health and care services based on individual case decisions. Our staff possess a high level of expertise in both targeted environmental work/environmental therapy and interdisciplinary mental health and substance use approaches. Service delivery and service offerings are under development, and organizational changes are to be expected

Job Responsibilities:
  • Comprehensive professional, financial, and personnel responsibility for the organization in accordance with Gjøvik Municipality’s management principles
  • Personnel and employer responsibilities for the organization in accordance with legal requirements and adopted goals and guidelines
  • Driving the development of effective models for patient care pathways, skill transition, and task sharing within the service
  • Ensuring systematic health, safety, and environmental (HSE) work in an inclusive work environment with active employee participation, including collaboration with employee representatives
  • Ensure that employees maintain up-to-date professional knowledge and that the service is documented in accordance with laws, regulations, and guidelines, in close collaboration with designated professionals
  • Ensure quality management with a focus on comprehensive services, coordination, and collaboration for the benefit of the user group and employees
  • Lead and participate in designated collaborative committees for FACT teams together with the second-line service
  • Take responsibility for personal development and actively contribute to innovative thinking within the service, which is constantly evolving and changing
Qualifications:
  • A 3-year college degree in health and/or social sciences is required
  • Further education in management is desirable, or a willingness to pursue such education
  • Relevant leadership experience will be given significant weight
  • Practical experience, thorough knowledge of, and commitment to the user group are prerequisites
  • Understanding of the laws and agreements governing employer responsibilities
  • Strong financial acumen and proficiency in using data and management tools
  • A valid police background check is required

  • Strong collaboration skills, interpersonal skills, and the ability to build trust and communicate goals and expectations
  • User involvement and collaboration with family members must be integral to the manager’s mindset
  • Requires strong documentation and communication skills, as well as strong oral and written presentation skills
  • Ability to conduct focused and systematic follow-up work at both the individual and system levels
  • Flexibility, integrity, and strong decision-making skills, including during change initiatives
  • Personal suitability is given high priority
