
Gjøvik Fire and Rescue has a vacancy for a fire constable in a 100% position. This involves rotation in a barracked duty scheme at the fire station at Gjøvik.
We will hire a fire constable in the emergency department. The applicant must be motivated and want to contribute to the community. You must be a skilled and committed person who is practical and can keep calm in order to handle many of the challenging tasks we may face.
As a fire officer, you will be an important part of our team that works with acute fire and rescue situations, as well as preparations to solve these tasks in the best possible way.
Gjøvik fire and rescue is organized under the service area technical operation in the municipality. The fire station is located in Stampevegen 5 in Hunndalen. Both the emergency preparedness and prevention departments are located here, along with other municipal services. The position is part of a permanent rota and is on call 24 hours a day.
The municipalities of Vestre Toten and Gjøvik are in the process of looking at the possibilities of establishing a joint fire and rescue service.
Tasks:Fire and rescue missions such as smoke diving, rescue diving and efforts in other acute accident situations such as rope rescue, surface rescue, health missions, etc.
Training and exercises on our own equipment and the challenges we face.
Perform repairs and maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
Service and work with key boxes, fire alarm customers, object plans and any other tasks assigned to the department.
Active participation in HSE work and development of this.
Participate in the fire service's preventive work, including training, exercises, inspections, etc.
Responsibility and duty to keep physically fit and pass annual physical tests.
The basic competence requirements for the position are set out in Section 37 of the Fire and Rescue Service Regulations, full-time basic course or equivalent.
Applicants must be in good health and physically fit, which at least meets our admission requirements.
Must be able to satisfy all requirements for possible rescue diving service.
Driver's license class B and C.
Personal qualities and suitability will be emphasized.
Must have a good command of written and oral Norwegian.
The applicant is expected to have satisfactory computer skills.
Peace of conduct - extended police certificate must be presented upon employment.
Relevant vocational education/certificate.
Driver's license class CE or C1E.
Certificate of competence for emergency driving, code 160.
