The Biri Care Center was built in 2021 and is a beautiful building equipped with modern technology. The care center houses a nursing home, a shared living community, specialized services, home care services, and daytime activities for seniors. There is also a café open to everyone—a place designed to foster a sense of community in the local area. The care center is centrally located between Gjøvik, Lillehammer, and Hamar. Biri Nursing Home consists of 16 beds for patients in the long-term somatic care unit. The facility operates with 16 full-time equivalents and has approximately 50 employees, including permanent staff and temporary workers. At Biri Nursing Home, we have a positive and inclusive work environment. We are looking for a healthcare assistant who wants to contribute to this and who can also help identify new solutions for our services. The position is a 50% permanent position, currently requiring work every other weekend. Other arrangements involving weekend work may be made.
Job Responsibilities:- Safeguard the patient’s needs and rights in collaboration with the patient and their family.
- Documentation in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines.
- Observations and assessment of health status.
- Performing professional procedures.
- Fulfilling various roles and responsibilities.
- Administering medications in accordance with applicable procedures.
- Providing guidance and instruction to colleagues, trainees, and students as needed.
Qualifications:- Valid license as a healthcare worker.
- Strong communication skills in Norwegian, both oral and written, will be emphasized in relation to the patient population.
- A commitment to and interest in caring for individuals who require close care and support over the long term is a prerequisite.
- Ability to work independently.
- General ICT skills.
- Initiative and interest in professional development. Openness to trying out new ways of working.
- Personal suitability and relevant work experience will be emphasized.
- A valid police clearance certificate is required.
