Description of the workplace:

The Bjørkelia residential community is part of the Sørbyen Care Center. The care center houses the offices of the home care service, two nursing home units, and specialized services/community services

Bjørkelia is an independent residential community for people with dementia. Twenty-four people live here in three units within the same building, which features a beautiful sensory garden outside. We are one of the municipality’s HDO—24-hour care services. Residents rent their apartments or rooms and are considered to be living at home. The unit consists of 20 full-time equivalents and has approximately 40 employees, including permanent staff and temporary workers.

You will help provide health and care services to people with diverse and complex needs. We highly value discussion and engagement to promote professional development and ethical reflection. 

Job Responsibilities:
  • Provide care and support to our residents and participate in a workday with a wide variety of tasks
  • Practical and ad hoc tasks
  • Documentation in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines
  • Responsibility for seeking advice, assistance, and guidance when needed
  • Collaborate with family members and colleagues
  • Contribute to an inclusive and positive work environment
Qualifications:
  • Certified healthcare assistant
  • Interest in dementia care
  • Personal suitability will be emphasized
  • You are flexible, clear, and solution-oriented
  • Good communication skills in Norwegian, both verbal and written
  • General ICT skills
  • Knowledge of Gerica is a plus
  • A clean criminal background check must be provided
