Description of the workplace:

Supported Services falls under the Health and Care division of Gjøvik Municipality. The service is based on providing varying levels of assistance in the home to adults and young people with various disabilities. Adapted services provide support to individuals with developmental disabilities, mental health conditions, and substance use disorders. Health care and practical assistance/training are provided in staffed group homes/co-located residences with 24-hour care, as well as through outreach services based on individual hourly assignments and support for family members.

This position is currently affiliated with Biri 1, which is a co-located, 24-hour staffed care residence. Outpatient services are also provided to varying degrees based on hourly service orders. The on-call night shift position also provides home-visit services to individuals with mental health conditions and substance use disorders as needed. There is one awake and one on-call staff member on duty at night in the care facility; this is an on-call night shift position with shifts every third weekend.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide practical assistance and health and care services to individuals with diverse and complex needs
  • You must be prepared to provide outreach services to people with mental health and/or substance use challenges as needed outside the assisted living facility
  • Maintain records in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
  • Work every third weekend

Qualifications:

  • License as a healthcare assistant; other relevant qualifications or experience may be considered
  • You must be over 18 years of age
  • Experience and commitment to this user group
  • Good documentation skills required
  • You must have a good command of Norwegian, both spoken and written
  • Good teamwork skills; you must also be able to work well independently
  • A valid police clearance certificate is required
