The municipality of Gjøvik is on the cusp of one of the most exciting periods of development in the water and wastewater sector in many years. We will build a new backup water treatment plant in Biri, upgrade wastewater treatment facilities, replace water and sewer pipes, and strengthen our efforts regarding stormwater management, operations, and emergency preparedness. A master plan for water and wastewater has been adopted, complete with a budget for implementation. As the Water and Wastewater Manager, you will play a central role in development and prioritization, coordination with residential and commercial development, and safeguarding critical infrastructure.

We are now seeking a confident and development-oriented leader who can coordinate and support the various teams in carrying out operational tasks and planning work. The department has approximately 30 employees spread across various locations and teams.

Gjøvik is a growing city with over 31,000 residents, a strong business community, and an active academic environment featuring NTNU, Campus, and Fagskolen Innlandet. Gjøvik offers proximity to nature, Lake Mjøsa, and a rich cultural scene, with everything within easy reach.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Overall management of water and wastewater services.
  • Strategic planning of operations and projects.
  • Financial management and reporting.
  • Administration and case management.
  • Coordination with administrative and political leadership.
  • Health, safety, and environment (HSE) work. 
We are looking for someone who:
  • Has leadership experience, is organized, and communicates well.
  • Has a relevant vocational school, college, or university degree in the relevant fields.
  • Specific education or experience in water and wastewater can partially compensate for educational requirements.
