Description of the workplace:

Nordbyen care center is located in the northern region of Gjøvik with a great view of the city and Lake Mjøsa. The care center consists of two nursing home departments, book collective, care homes, day center and home services. There is a café/canteen attached that is available to patients, staff and visitors. Free parking adjacent to the care center.

The department has 12 long-term places for people with dementia and a need for sheltered care. The department has a high professional focus on dementia care. We also have a continuous collaboration with the Department of Geriatric Psychiatry at Innlandet Hospital, Sannerud.

We are now looking to strengthen our team with a professionally committed nurse with a heart for good dementia care. Tasks:

The work tasks are in accordance with the job description for nurses and include:

  • Patient responsible nurse

  • Protecting the patient's needs and rights in collaboration with the patient and relatives

  • Nursing procedures and tasks.

  • Medication management

  • Doctor visits

  • Follow-up of tasks according to patient pathways

  • Documentation in accordance with applicable laws, regulations and guidelines

  • Guidance/training for colleagues, students and pupils

  • Meeting management/attendance

  • Responsible for keeping professionally up to date

  • On-call responsibilities involving the coordination of work tasks / staff resources in their own department

  • Responsible shifts with an overall nursing responsibility in their own department and across the care center's departments

Qualifications:

  • Approved Norwegian authorization as a nurse

  • Student nurses, with expected approved authorization in June 2026, can also apply for the position. An offer of employment can only be made upon approved authorization

  • Good communication skills in Norwegian, both orally and in writing (min. equivalent to B2 level).)

  • Basic computer skills

  • Requirement of approved police certificate without remarks
