Description of the workplace:

Nordbyen omsorgssenter is a beautiful center at the top of the city with several independent businesses and a rental housing wing. Here we have a nursing home, book collective, day activity offer, café and base for ambulatory home service. We have great views, nice surroundings for walks, little traffic noise and good parking conditions.

The nursing home consists of 2 departments with a total of 20 places.

The first floor has 8 places, divided into 2 units, for people who need a sheltered reinforced offer due to challenging behavior. This unit has a high staffing factor.

2. floor has 12 sheltered places for people with dementia divided into 2 units (primarily long-term places).

We now want to bring in a professionally committed nurse to our team on the 1st floor, sheltered reinforced unit.

Turnus with currently work every 3 weekends. Possibility of alternative shift arrangements (12.5 hour shifts every 4 weekends).

Work tasks:
  • Manage patient responsibilities with a focus on person-centered care

  • Manage daily tasks and continuity in the department

  • Manage patient needs and rights in collaboration with patient, relatives and other personnel

  • Use of various mapping tools

  • Medication management
  • Observation, sampling and medical technical procedures
  • Documentation in accordance with applicable laws, regulations and guidelines

  • Promote professional development
  • Environmental management
  • Responsibility for seeking advice/assistance and guidance when needed

  • Contribute to an inclusive and good working environment

  • Teamwork and interdisciplinary collaboration

  • Supervision/training of students

  • Related work

  • May be assigned on-call responsibilities and shifts of responsibility that involve the coordination of work tasks/staff resources and overall nursing responsibility.
Qualifications:
  • Norwegian authorization as a nurse

  • Desirable with further education in geriatrics, psychiatry or dementia

  • Personal suitability and relevant work experience will be greatly emphasized.

  • Experience in the use of cognitive mapping tools
  • You have a focus on improvement work and are solution-oriented
  • You are able to make decisions and interact in a team
  • Good collaboration and communication skills

  • You are positive, generous, committed and a good team player

  • Initiative and interest in professional development
  • Desirable with experience in TKH, HAVA, MAP or other experience in preventing and dealing with violence and threats
  • Empathy and good caring ability

  • Good oral and written presentation skills in Norwegian

  • Good attitudes to working life

  • Flexibility

  • Basic computer skills

  • Requirement for approved police certificate
