Description of the workplace:

Nordbyen Bokollektiv is part of Nordbyen omsorgssenter, which is located in beautiful surroundings in Gjøvik with a view of Lake Mjøsa. Nordbyen Care Center consists of a housing collective for people with dementia, 2 nursing home departments, a base for home care services, a day center and a café/canteen. There is also a sensory garden attached to the center.

The housing collective was built and taken into use in 2017 and has 24 housing units divided into 3 groups of 8 residents each. The premises are bright and modern and there are associated welfare technology solutions. The residents rent their apartments/rooms and are considered to be living at home.

We are looking for a new nurse to join our team, who will help to make a difference!

Turnus with day and evening shifts, work every 3rd weekend. Long shifts have been introduced in the department, so it may be possible to work long shifts every 4th weekend if desired.

Work tasks:
  • Maintain the resident's needs and rights in collaboration with the resident himself and relatives.
  • Nursing duties.
  • Documentation in accordance with applicable laws, regulations and guidelines.
  • Supervision/training of colleagues and students.
  • Promoting professional development.
  • Primary contact for a selection of users.
  • Takes responsibility for development and innovation in the profession and in the work in general.
Qualifications:
  • Approved authorization as a nurse.
  • Interest in dementia care.
  • Relevant further education is desirable, but personal suitability will be emphasized.
  • Good communication skills in Norwegian, both oral and written, will be emphasized in relation to the user group (non-Scandinavian applicants must document Norwegian skills equivalent to B2).
  • General ICT skills
  • Commitment and a desire to motivate colleagues and residents.
  • Requirement for an approved police certificate.
