
Gjøvik Municipality has organized health and care services for young people with various disabilities and support needs through specialized services.
The position is part of a unit that provides services to one core team working in schools, respite care, and the homes of families with children who have significant support needs and require specially adapted services. The services are coordinated and organized by a social care worker who serves as the team leader and works in a goal-oriented and systematic manner in schools, respite care settings, and in the home. The core team is organized as a comprehensive and coordinated service offering with a focus on interdisciplinary collaboration.
The organization also provides services to individuals with various disabilities who live more independently, offering follow-up services and assistance at home, as well as support with daily living skills and tasks.
We will establish a new respite care facility that will offer institutional respite care on a rotating basis for families with children and youth with various disabilities.
Shift schedule: Day, evening, and every third weekend

Licensure as a social care worker or registered nurse is preferred; others with relevant college education may also apply
Experience and strong professional knowledge in goal-oriented social work and relevant practical experience with the client group, including children and youth
Focuses on the needs of clients

Takes initiative and fosters engagement regarding professional development and a positive work environment
Works in a structured and systematic manner
Flexible in relation to work tasks and changes
Approved police background check required

Training in professional systems; familiarity with Gat and Gerica is a plus
