Gjøvik Municipality is seeking a dedicated and inspiring manager who will help create a positive daily life for residents and staff at the Nordbyen housing cooperative.
Here, you will lead a highly skilled professional team in a modern building equipped with state-of-the-art technology and excellent facilities for both residents and staff, within a framework that fosters development and quality.
The position is part of the 24-hour care services and is part of an established management team consisting of 13 facility managers affiliated with all care centers in the municipality.
About the workplace:Nordbyen Care Center is a modern and diverse facility that houses:
- A day center
- A production kitchen with its own café
- Two nursing home units
- A home care department
- A residential community with 24 living units
The residential community is a living community for people with dementia, with dedicated staff on-site 24 hours a day.
Job Responsibilities:As the facility manager, you will have overall professional, personnel, and operational responsibility for the residential community and will report directly to the service manager.
You will lead in accordance with Gjøvik Municipality’s management principles and actively contribute to the development of services.
Your main responsibilities will be to:
- develop and operate an efficient and well-functioning facility with an inclusive work environment, where both residents receive high-quality services and employees have a safe and positive workplace
- assume personnel and employer responsibilities in accordance with the municipality’s goals and guidelines
- assume financial and operational responsibility within given parameters, including the payroll budget
- be responsible for systematic and comprehensive health, safety, and environmental (HSE) work, as well as ensuring constructive and trust-based cooperation between the parties within the organization
- facilitate professional development and skill enhancement, ethical reflection, and innovative thinking
- ensure quality, professionally sound services, and good cross-functional collaboration
- facilitate user participation and good collaboration with family members
- document and report in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines
- seek advice and guidance as needed, and take responsibility for one’s own professional development
Qualifications:- Registered nurse with leadership skills and experience
- Experience with and/or interest in services for individuals requiring 24-hour care, dementia care, and assistive technology is desirable
- Has insight into the operation and management of home-based 24-hour care services
- Has experience with financial management and budgeting
- Proficient in relevant computer tools
- Has a good understanding of labor laws and collective bargaining agreements
- Has experience with work schedule planning
- Ability to work independently and purposefully, with strong collaboration skills
- Personal suitability as a leader—with strong interpersonal skills, flexibility, and the ability to think innovatively—will be given significant weight
- Can provide a valid police clearance certificate
