Description of the workplace:

At the Åslundmarka Residential and Service Center, we offer an Open Day Program for residents of Åslundmarka. Åslundmarka is an active facility offering a variety of services, including adapted services, mobile home care, a day center, and a shared living community for people with dementia, as well as round-the-clock care residences. The Open Day Program is part of the Åslundmarka 24-Hour Care facility.

The facility consists of a manager, nurses, nursing assistants/health care workers, care workers, students, and assistants. We are committed to diversity and have staff members of many different nationalities working in our organization. All employees are dedicated to providing high-quality services tailored to each individual’s needs. 

The open day program is available Monday through Friday and is located in the cafeteria. It offers a wonderful range of activities, including meals, exercise, conversation, walks, games, singing, various forms of entertainment, as well as seasonal and holiday-themed activities. The program is very popular among the facility’s residents. There are 1.4 full-time equivalents (FTEs) assigned to the program, but other staff members also assist, as do volunteers.

We are looking for a healthcare worker who wants to make a difference for those living with us. Currently, the schedule consists of daytime shifts during the week and work every third weekend as a regular healthcare worker in the assisted living facilities.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide health care and practical assistance to residents in their own homes
  • Documentation in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines
  • Responsibility for seeking advice, assistance, and guidance when needed

Qualifications:

  • Norwegian certification as a healthcare assistant / nursing aide
  • Flexible
  • Personal suitability and relevant work experience will be given significant weight
  • You should be outgoing, enjoy being around people; perhaps you’re creative, or you like to sing or play an instrument
  • Good collaboration and communication skills
  • You’re positive and a good team player
  • Empathetic and caring
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in Norwegian
  • A positive attitude toward work
  • Basic computer skills
  • Requirement for an approved police background check
