Description of the workplace:

Gjøvik municipality's department of municipal technical operations is located in Hunndalen. The department consists of 30 man-years divided between roads, parks, forests, outdoors, facilities and its own workshop.

Park/road consists of 15 man-years that are responsible for the operation and maintenance of the municipality's recreational areas, bathing areas, hiking trails and road areas. The department is important in the municipality's commitment to growth and development by creating harmony and well-being for both residents and visitors by, among other things, designing green lungs and aesthetic surroundings.

We are looking for a person with a great interest in the "green subject" and who enjoys having their workplace outside. You must have a good mood and take challenges in your stride.

Work tasks:
  • The position will be varied between summer and winter season


  • Planting and care of flowers and perennials
  • Grass mowing
  • Work in lift
  • Winter maintenance such as plowing and gritting of roads, (some unfavorable working hours must be expected)
  • Trimming of trees and shrubs
  • Felling with chainsaw
  • Maintenance of various installations and preparing for the summer season
  • Driving larger equipment
  • Minor repairs/maintenance of stone paving in our outdoor areas
Qualifications:
  • Relevant experience in the field
  • Driver's license Class B, BE
  • Driver's license Class C1, missing driver's license must be expected to be taken after employment
  • General good computer skills
Desirable with the following qualifications:
  • Professional certificate in relevant field
  • Machine operator certificate for relevant machines
  • Desirable with courses in occupational safety, hot work, chainsaw courses
Personal qualities:
  • Relevant experience and practice will be emphasized
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Ability to contribute to a good working environment
  • Good communication skills orally and in writing
  • Ability to collaborate across disciplines
  • Structured and efficient
