
Description of the work location:
The position will be based at Gjøvik Volunteer Center, currently at the Biri branch. The position reports to the operations manager. We are looking for a dedicated and organized employee with a strong commitment to continuing and developing our work in Biri. Experience and expertise in working with diverse target groups, as well as personal suitability, will be emphasized.
Gjøvik Volunteer Center aims to help create social gathering places for individuals of various ages and from different target groups, and to serve as a “hub” for organizations and other volunteer work in the municipality of Gjøvik. In addition, the Volunteer Center rents out facilities and organizes several major annual events, such as Volunteer Day in downtown Gjøvik.
The Gjøvik Volunteer Center is constantly evolving and currently has five branches: Sentrum, Hunndalen, Biri, Snertingdal, and Øverby.
Job Responsibilities:
Coordinating the Volunteer Center’s activities in Biri.
Administration and some financial oversight of the branch.
Recruiting, training, and supporting volunteers for our own activities.
Assisting with the development and marketing of our activities.
Help promote our activities as safe, open, and inclusive meeting places.
Take a methodical approach to target groups and the development of activities.
Facilitate collaboration with other relevant stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Relevant higher education from a college or university.
Documented experience may compensate for the educational requirement.
Experience with relationship-building work.
Experience providing training and guidance.
Good knowledge of and experience with using ICT tools.
Very good written and oral communication skills in Norwegian.
A valid police clearance certificate must be presented.

Some irregular working hours, including evening and weekend work, are to be expected.
