Gjøvik Municipality is seeking a psychologist who would like to join our interdisciplinary treatment team, Team Ung. With us, you’ll enjoy a varied and meaningful workday with clinical responsibilities at both the individual and group levels, in an exciting collaboration between the child and youth services and health and social care sectors.

The team works with children and youth aged 0–25 who are experiencing mild to moderate mental health challenges and/or emerging substance use issues, as well as their families. We are committed to early intervention, comprehensive follow-up, and meeting children, youth, and families where they are.

Team Ung is part of the Youth Health and Coping unit, which also consists of the Family Team, Ung i Gjøvik, and the Child Coordinator. Together, we form a professional environment characterized by collaboration, commitment, and a shared goal of enhancing quality of life, coping skills, and development opportunities for children and young people. We collaborate closely across the unit’s services and with other relevant stakeholders involved with the child, the young person, and the family.

Until the end of 2026, Team Ung is part of the “Tett på 12-25” project in Gjøvik Municipality. Starting in 2027, the team will continue as a regular service, and you’ll have the opportunity to help shape and further develop the program.

The team consists of 4.5 positions and has a multidisciplinary composition. We value diverse perspectives and skills, and aim to create a professional environment where learning, development, and collaboration are central.

We are now advertising a permanent full-time (100%) daytime position. Some evening courses and group activities should be expected.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Assessment and treatment of children and adolescents with mild to moderate mental health issues and early-stage substance use problems
  • Supporting parents in the target group in their role and contributing to family-supportive measures
  • Working in accordance with the national professional guidelines for mental health work with individuals aged 0–25
  • Participate in interdisciplinary collaboration with relevant services for children, adolescents, and their families
  • Professional leadership role in the youth team, equivalent to a 20% position
  • Supervisory duties within the organization
  • Contribute to the continuous development of the service
  • Use of feedback tools in clinical work
Qualifications:
  • Specialist psychologist in the relevant field or a psychologist in training
  • Norwegian license to practice
  • Experience working with children’s and adolescents’ mental health in the specialist health service and/or municipal health service is desirable
  • Approved police background check required
