Description of the workplace:

The Real Estate Department of Gjøvik Municipality consists of approximately 100 dedicated employees who build, manage, operate, maintain, develop, and clean the municipality’s 141,000 square meters of buildings.

The cleaning service consists of approximately 85 employees who perform daily cleaning at over 75 locations throughout the municipality, including schools, daycare centers, healthcare facilities, a movie theater, city hall, and other buildings. The work environment is pleasant and characterized by professionally dedicated employees. The cleaning service is currently led by an operations manager and three cleaning supervisors.

The cleaning service in Gjøvik Municipality is seeking two part-time employees who are looking for a varied and meaningful workday. We’re looking for someone who is service-oriented, responsible, and committed to quality in the work you perform. The positions are part of a team where collaboration and good communication are essential for success.

As an employee, you will help maintain a clean and hygienic environment in the municipality’s buildings, and you will be an important part of a professionally strong and inclusive work environment.

The successful candidate must be flexible and willing to work at other cleaning service locations as needed.

Work hours: Daytime, with early morning shifts expected.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Daily and periodic cleaning at the completely renovated Gjøvik Swimming Pool.
  • Use of cleaning machines and ergonomic equipment in daily work.
  • Use of an iPad as a digital work tool, including digital cleaning schedules, Teams, email, GAT, etc.
  • Contribute to good hygiene and a healthy indoor environment for building users.
  • Other cleaning-related tasks as needed.
  • Actively participate in department meetings, professional meetings, and informational meetings.
  • Stay up to date on information, routines, and procedures communicated in writing and verbally.
Qualifications:
  • You must be at least 18 years old.
  • Experience in cleaning will be a plus.
  • You have a good command of Norwegian, both spoken and written.
  • You are comfortable using tablets, email, and digital work tools.
  • Class B driver’s license.
  • A valid police background check is required.
Desired qualifications:
  • A vocational certificate as a cleaning operator is desirable but not required.
  • Experience with or good knowledge of pool cleaning and the specific hygiene requirements applicable to pool facilities is desirable.
